Orlando Transgender Day of Remembrance 2018 (TDOR)
GIFT holds an annual Orlando Transgender Day of Remembrance event.
Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDoR), which occurs annually on November 20, is a day to memorialize those who have been killed as a result of transphobia and to bring attention to the continued violence endured by the transgender community. Wikipedia
The evening’s activities included poetry readings and performances, inspirational speakers, reading of the names and a benediction.
This year’s event was held Thursday, November 15th, 2018 at Valencia College East. Tables were set up at 2:00 pm with entertainment starting at 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm. Inspirational speakers were from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm followed by the candlelight vigil and reading of the names at 9:15 pm.
Tables, entertainment and speakers were in Building 5, Room 112 with the reading of the names outdoors.
