Orlando Transgender Day of Remembrance 2017 (TDOR)
GIFT holds an annual Orlando Transgender Day of Remembrance event.
Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDoR), which occurs annually on November 20, is a day to memorialize those who have been killed as a result of transphobia and to bring attention to the continued violence endured by the transgender community. (Wikipedia)
This year’s event was held Monday, November 20th, 2017 at Valencia College East. Tables were set up at 2 with entertainment starting at 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm. Inspirational speakers were from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm followed by the candlelight vigil and reading of the names at 9:15 pm.
The evening’s activities included poetry readings and performances, inspirational speakers, reading of the names and a benediction.
